This dashboard provides insights into NASA contracts and grants that may have been cancelled, terminated, or significantly modified since January 20th, 2025. The data presented here are compiled and maintained by Casey Dreier at The Planetary Society to enhance transparency surrounding NASA’s programmatic activities and funding allocations.
How the Data is CompiledTo identify potential changes, several different official government data sources and public datasets: the DOGE website, NASA’s Procurement Data View database, and an archived database of NASA Grants information. These are monitored on a daily basis. These sources are scanned for specific indicators that might suggest an award is undergoing a significant change, such as:
When one of these sources flags a potential change in a NASA contract or grant, the system retrieves comprehensive and standardized details for that specific award directly from the official USAspending.gov database. This ensures the information presented—such as recipient names, funding amounts, award dates, and locations—is based on the authoritative federal spending record.
The goal is to provide a consolidated list of NASA awards that warrant further investigation due to data signals suggesting they may have been cancelled or significantly altered.
This data is checked daily. The last updated date reflects the last time a change was detected. Inclusion on this list signifies that an award has met specific criteria suggesting a potential cancellation or significant modification based on available data; further investigation is recommended.
